About Me

My name is James Manley and I was born and raised in Northampton, Pennsylvania. If there is one thing that I would like everyone to know about me, it's the fact that music is an integral part of what keeps me going everyday. Music provides me with an optimistic view on the world and life as whole, and I believe it has the ability not only to bring people together, but to change people's lives.

As far as past experience, I attended Allentown Central Catholic High School from 2018-2022. During that time I was a lifeguard at Stonecrest Swim Club, a position I would hold for six consecutive summers. After graduating from ACCHS, I enrolled at Penn State University (which is where I am today). I am currently a Head Lifeguard for Penn State: Campus Recreation and an active member of my professional business fraternity, Phi Beta Lambda. It took me well over one year to decide to major in accounting within the Smeal College of Business as I knew choosing this major would eventually lead into what career I will pursue.

I was always curious since a young age as to what career I was destined for and what kind of person I wanted to be. However, thinking about the future and calculating every single possible outcome made me extremely anxious. Along the way I eventually realized, with the guidance and wisdom of my parents, that living in the present moment and not wasting a single second of time will allow the future to unfold in a more favorable direction. I believe that time is infinitely more valuable than anything else on this planet, which is why no time should be spent on reliving the past. Right or wrong, our decisions in the past made us who we are today, and we must always work to learn from our past to focus on our present in order to create a better future.
